ABOUT ME
Trulku Lhawang Dorji Tamang (Jigmey Pema Rangdol) was born on the asuspicious day of the First Sermon of Lord Buddha to the family of the revered Tamang Lama in Earth Dragon Year 1988 amidst auspicious signs. He was very naughty as a child. But he was a unique child. He was quite serious and did not mingle with other children of his age too much. He loved to stay alone. He could recite mantras and prayers very early in life. He was found meditating many times in the forests while he went herding the cattles and even in the schools. He expressed key interest in such matters very early in life. He was recognized as the reincarnation of Tamang Bomzan Khaiba Lama of the same lineage by a venerated Tibetan Yogi, and a hermit, and later by H.H Buli Trulku Rinpoche and H.H Dungse Rinpoche. He also holds prominent seat in the Ngningma order of Buddhism under the guidance of H.E Sangay Lodoe Rinpoche, India. But, despite all of these, he lives simply and maintains a simple profile. His daily schedule begins at 4 a.m in the morning and ends at 10 p.m.
He went to Daifam Primary school in 1996 at the age of eight. Then gradually, he went to many schools in Bhutan with good grades. He often topped the classes. He completed his High school from Trashiyangtse Higher Secondary school in 2008. Then he qualified for higher studies at Sherubtse College in Kanglung. There he opted for Environmental Science and English Literature. In 2012 he graduated with the double degree and subsequently, in the same year, on the same day as he was born (First Sermon of Lord Buddha), he became an ordained Buddhist monk at Thubten Choekhorling Shedra under the teacher, Khenchen Karma Rangdol Rinpoche. He also holds a DAN Black Belt Certificate from the world Taekwondo Head Quarter, Korea. He is also a singer.
Since his ordination, he has been moving around Bhutan and parts of India teaching the message of Love, kindness, compassion and wisdom. He conducts Mani Dungdrup at Bodh Gaya and many other places in Bhutan. His studies leaves him with very limited time, except during his winter vacation. He also received the highest vows of a Protimoksha, supreme monk ordination from His Holiness the Je Khenpo Trulku Jigme Choedra of Bhutan in May 2014.
